Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Nominated For the 2016 International Reggae And World Music Awards

Ghanaian dancehall acts Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Burniton have been nominated for this year’s International Reggae And World Music Awards slated for October this year.

Other nominees include reggae/ dancehall heavyweights Tarrus Riley, Morgan Heritage, Sean Paul, Skip Marley and Major Lazer.

The award scheme, which seeks to acknowledge and honor the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artists, including: songwriters, performers, promoters and musicians saw a total of 160 nominations. This is Shatta Wale’s third time at the awards. He was nominated for Best Music Video and Best African Song/Entertainer category with his hit Chop Kiss.

Wizkid, Maitre Gims, Koffi Olomide, and Flavour are among other African nominees for the event. They compete for the Best African Song/Entertainer category. Other nominees include Christopher Martin, Nezbeth, Jah Cure, Ziggy Marley, Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Etana, PopCaan, Spice, OMI, Inner Circle, Sly & Robbie, JBeatz, Klass, Daniel Musgrove, Alkaline.

The event comes off at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, Florida.

Voting ends September 8, 2016.
